So, that’s it.
Months of hard work (day and especially night) have finally paid off, because my new collection for summer 2013 is done!
The process of designing a collection is long, interesting and fulfilling, but it is always combined with bit of doubt. I’m never sure I will be able to be innovative, original or interesting enough and I’m also a bit worried that maybe you won’t like the new collection as much as the previous ones.
The new collection is called “Colores” and it’s inspired by the culture and crafts of Mexico and South America. As a child I spent a year in Mexico with my family and returned to Mexico and South America several times after that, for trips or for studying. I have traveled to many other places as well, and I can say there is no other place with such amazing crafts.
The new collection features jewelry which combines stitching, weaving, beading and thread work in modern variations which express my design point of view. You will notice the colors received a boost of energy and they are especially bright this time. Apart from these, in the collection you will also find items inspired by the Maya and indian Cultures by Mexican customs as well.

 

 

The final part of the process is the catalog photo shoot. It’s one of the most exciting days of the year, because suddenly I get to see all my new creations worn by a beautiful model, with the perfect clothing and in the perfect setting.

Model: Yael Shoshana Cohen, a fantastic singer here in Israel (and an evenly beautiful girl).

We met very early at Ziv’s studio with the mission to make the setting colorful, lively and basically Mexican.

We used colorful backgrounds and brought Cactus and Bougainvillea plants to the studio.
To keep the energy high we had a Pop music playlist playing all day. Britney Spears was those that helped us get through the day with lots of fun.

 

I hope you will like the catalog, but especially hope that you will like the collection! Because as much as I like seeing it on a pretty model, I am super excited to see my customers wear it.
